Japan offers N71m to boost sesame seed
production in Taraba

Japan and Hope Afresh Foundation yesterday signed
a grand contract of $197, 736 (N71m) for the establishment of a facility for the
processing of Sesame seeds in Taraba State.
The Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria,Yutaka Kikuta andthe founder of the foundation and wife of Taraba Governor, Anna Ishaku, signed the deal.
The fund would be provided by the Japanese government under that country’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects, while the project would be executed in collaboration with Toyota Tsusho Corporation, a Japanese firm.
Mrs Ishaku thanked the government of Japan for the good gesture and assured that the facility will greatly boost sesame seed production in Taraba State.
